Suspicious doorstep caller sparks warning

Police are appealing for information and offering advice following a suspicious incident in Bradwell.

A man visited a property on Hollow Gate at around 1.30pm on Thursday, August 4, and once the visitor realised that the elderly homeowner was not alone, the man made excuses and left.

He was described as white, aged in his mid to late 20s, and spoke with a Sheffield accent.

He wore a green t-shirt, with a dark navy or black body warmer, and carried a backpack.

Following the incident, officers from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team are appealing to any witnesses, or anyone who may have been visited by a man matching the description above, to get in touch.
