Supermarket backs church fundraising campaign
A campaign to raise funds towards urgent repairs at an historic Chapel-en-le-Frith church has received backing from Buxton’s Waitrose store.
As part of the supermarket’s Community Matters scheme, a cheque for £235 has been presented to members of St Thomas Becket Church.
Waitrose’s Dan Hopkinson, who made the presentation, said: “The age of the church, which dates back to the 14th century, means that it is in urgent need of repairs and funds are required to support this.”
