The annual event organised by Buxton and District Lions follows a five mile route from Buxton Town Centre to Solomon’s Temple then over to Corbar Cross and back to the town centre.

Participants are able to choose which charity they support, while the walk entry fees are donated by the Lions to a local worthy cause.

This year the chosen charity is Buxton Mountain Rescue Team who are running at £50,000 for 50 years service appeal. The team are looking to raise enough money to replace their current Incident Control Vehicle, which is 11 years old.

The midnight summer walk takes place on Friday June 20, starting at 9.30pm. In previous years more than 150 people have taken part in the walk, raising more than £6,000 in sponsorship.
