Once an indispensable part of a Victorian lady’s personal possessions, eggs made of the rare mineral such are seeing a revival as collector’s items.

Vicky Turner, owner of the show cave, one of only two working Blue John mines in the world said: “The eggs are about the size of a real egg and retail at about £130. We have recently had orders from as far afield as Italy.”
