A section of the A6 in Buxton is to be closed tonight as police carry out a reconstruction of a fatal collision.
Last Thursday, November 10, 79-year-old pedestrian Harry Higton died after a collision with a lorry on Fairfield Road.
Tonight, police will close Fairfield Road from the roundabout junction with Bakewell Road to the junction with Lightwood Road from 8.30pm until shortly before midnight.
A signed diversion route is planned for heavy goods vehicles, along the A5004 Long Hill road with local diversions in place for smaller vehicles.
The road is being closed to allow Derbyshire police’s collision investigation unit to carry out a reconstruction of the collision, in which Mr Higton sadly died.
The 40-year-old lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
Witnesses to the collision or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting reference 16000363257.
