Second person dies after A6 motorbike crash

The two people have died following a motorcycle collision in the High Peak and have now been named by Derbyshire Police.

Rider Roy Williams, 48, was travelling along the A6 between King Sterndale and Cowdale when there was a collision with a car on Thursday, May 12 about 7.35pm.

He died at the scene and his passenger Diane Jones, 46, was taken to Northern General Hospital with life-threatening injuries but sadly died on Saturday.

The pair were both from Manchester and police are appealing for witnesses and would like anyone with information to contact the collision investigation team at Ripley on 101 quoting incident number 717, of May 12.
