A helicopter has taken to the skies to help a distraught woman find her dog which went missing in Derby on Wednesday.

Lacey, a six-year-old cocker spaniel, is believed to have been injured on the A38 before going into undergrowth near to Palm Court Island.

A Facebook page devoted to finding her has been seen by over 2,000 people, with search parties up to 30 strong looking for her in the Darley Abbey and Allestree areas of the city.

Owner Beth Walker and her flatmate Leah Duffy, of Darley Abbey, have also enlisted a tracker dog to help them continue their search.

In addition, a £500 reward is on offer to anyone who finds Lacey, who was wearing a red jumper when she went missing from Darley Park at about 4pm on Wednesday.
