Public meeting on town’s health services future
North Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is considering changes to ensure it can continue providing care to an ageing population with complex needs when funding is tight.
One change being considered is the partial transfer of funding and health workers from the area’s hospitals to multi-skilled teams working in the community with the aim of making sure joined-up health and social care services are in place in the community for patients before they are discharged from hospital.
Dr Debbie Austin, High Peak GP and member of the CCG’s governing body, said: “We need people’s views to help us turn our ideas into firm proposals that we’ll consult on later in the year.”
The CCG is holding a stakeholder forum on June 12 at the Pavilion Gardens from 6pm to 8pm to give locals the chance to have their say. If that isn’t convenient, a meeting is also being held at Cliff College, Calver, on June 10.
