Police hunt vandals who smashed property in Derbyshire village

'Mindless' vandals are being hunted by police after they caused damage in a Derbyshire village.

Officers are appealing for information after the vandals smashed a glass door panel and a car windscreen in Hathersage.

The rear windscreen of a red Seat Arosa was smashed after offenders threw a rock at the window in the Hathersage Swimming Pool carpark on Oddfellows Road. This took place between 5.45pm and 7.15pm on Tuesday, January 26.

The glass door panel at the Hathersage Bowls Club was also shattered after a large rock was thrown at the property. This happened sometime between 5.45pm on Tuesday, January 26 and 11.15am the following morning.

PCSO Anthony Boswell, from the village’s Safer Neighbourhood team, said: “Mindless vandalism such as this can cause great distress to the victims and it will not be tolerated in our community.

“I would urge anyone who may have any information to contact us on 101 to help us find those responsible.”
