Superheroes hold Marvel-lous virus fighting summit in Buxton town centre

Comic book characters and Disney damsels combated rain and wind to wow kids and their families who looked on in amazement and posed for photos.
A video filmed on the day by Matthew Platt shows Buxton’s very own Ironman Andy Baker leading the superhuman posse across the Milner Bridge holding an NHS flag.

Father-of-two Andy, 41, organised the marvellous meet-up in support of the campaign started by costumed coronavirus crusader Jason Baird - known as Stockport Spider-Man.
Jason - who had raised over £46,000 at the time of writing - has had his campaign backed by comedians Jason Manford and Keith Lemon.
Machine setter Andy, told how it was ‘hard to find words’ when he was joined by the crew of fellow crimefighters and fantasy characters.

He said: “I was buzzing all day because of it - all the other heroes joined us for a few lengths in support and they’re such a thoughtful group of people.
“Holly Howe as Buxton Belle has been amazing from the start and she deserves a big mention for singing to the children as we walked around - the little girls love her so much.”
