Julie Dalton, managing director of the attraction which is one of four Gulliver’s theme parks across the country, said: “We are incredibly excited that the opening weekend for Gulliver’s Kingdom is finally upon us. The last few months have been extremely challenging so to be in the position where can safely welcome back our loyal customers is wonderful.

“Of course, the health and wellbeing of our visitors and our employees really is top priority and so we have staggered the opening of our parks to ensure each one meets the high standards we have set ourselves as well as meeting the requirements outlined by Government. These include introducing a number of measures so that everyone feels comfortable and reassured whilst enjoying a fun and enjoyable day out.”

Aimed at children between the ages of two and 13-years-old, Gulliver’s Kingdom is a key tourist attraction in the Peak District and home to a host of rides and attractions, as well as accommodation options.

Julie added: “We’ve already seen some guests enjoy our T-Rex Treks and Explorers Retreat accommodation in July so the opening of the theme park means we are now fully up and running giving visitors to the area the chance to enjoy some Gulliver’s magic, nestled on the Matlock Bath hillside in the heart of the beautiful Peak District.”

The Matlock Bath park was originally the first to be opened by Gulliver’s in 1978 when Ray and Hilary Parks created a model village on the hillside. The family-run company opened their latest venture, Gulliver’s Valley, at Rotherham this month.
