Buxton Junior School PTA has created the Easter trail, which will start on Friday and take people on a tour of the town as they search for well-known bunnies from Peter Rabbit to Bugs Bunny.

Chair of the PTA Liz Taylor said: “We thought it was really important to champion and celebrate Buxton’s independent shops after what has been a really rough year.

"We know not all the shops will be open when the hunt starts but the trail takes people around the town and we hope it may remind everyone what great traders we have and to shop local when we can. ”

The quest for the 15 famous bunnies starts at the Thomas Theyer shop on London Road and takes hunters along Higher Buxton, across the marketplace, down Hall Bank, into the Cavendish Arcade and along Spring Gardens.

People will have to list which bunnies or rabbits they find at each shop to complete the trail.

Liz, who has two children at the school, said: “We wanted to create something fun for families, which could be done safely outside and done in people’s bubbles.

"We’re keeping the trail up for all the Easter holidays so people can chose when they do it which will hopefully spread out the number of people taking part, it’s open to everyone not just those who go to the Junior School and we’d love everyone to join in and have some fun.”
