Coronavirus battle sees Buxton Opera House, arts centre and cinema close 'with immediate effect'

The Opera House along with the Pavillion Arts Centre and Buxton Cinema will close to help minimise the spread of COVID-19 in the county.

“As a charity this is likely to be a very difficult time, but our priority has to be the health and wellbeing of our customers, staff and volunteers,” a post reads on the Buxton Opera House Facebook page.

“The situation is rapidly developing, so we will continue to monitor and respond to government advice throughout this time and post updates on our website and social media.

“Please, don’t call the Box Office.”

All tickets purchased through the venues for events up until the end of April will be automatically refunded.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the spokesperson added.
