Buxton Mountain Rescue to hold live fundraising broadcast

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team are holding a live fundraising broadcast to raise money for a new response vehicle.

The show will include testimonials from members of the public, live interviews with the team and cover their involvement in the Toddbrook dam incident .

It will aim to raise money to replace an ageing response vehicle in Buxton Mountain Rescue’s fleet as well as raise awareness of operational issues.

Students from the University of Salford have put together the broadcast and filming as part of their BA Television and Radio course.

The programme will be broadcast on all of Buxton Mountain Rescue’s social media channels - including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram - on March 27 at 7pm.

Team chairman Rick Mobbs said: “As one of the emergency services mountain rescue teams are on call 24-7 and are entirely funded by the communities they serve.

“We need to engage with our supporters to let them know how we operate.”
