Ten staff at The Hawthorns Care Home donned costumes including pirates, sailors and leprechauns while dancing in a line around the building and miming the well-known lyrics.

Workers at the home took part in the comical footage after comic Peter Kay appealed for members of the public to send in clips of themselves parading to the much-loved tune.

The video showed footage from Kay’s 2005 Amarillo sketch alongside clips of keyworkers such as firefighters and hospital staff as well as people in lockdown miming from home.

Though the Hawthorns footage was not included in the Big Night In event manager Helen Bentley told how staff had ‘lots of fun doing it’.

She said: “It was just something to lift people’s spirits during these current times - it’s been lovely and great for team-building.
