Peak District Artisans will return to the Devonshire Dome

To mark the silver anniversary Peak District Artisans will return to the Devonshire Dome this weekend for their annual Great Dome Art Fair.

Part of Buxton’s Festival Fringe - showcases the wide range of talent within the group, including artists, ceramicists, furniture makers, designer makers and artisans.

Chairman and member, Ingrid Karlsson said: “We are incredibly excited about this year’s events, over the last twenty-five years the group has evolved in so many ways.

“We now have more than 60 very talented members who each contribute to our annual exhibition programme, as well as running their own art businesses.

This year ten members are donating an original piece of work for a silent auction to raise money for Lane End Farm Trust which provides outdoor farm activities where disabled and disadvantaged young people.

Steve Shimwell at Lane End Farm said: “We felt immensely proud and so very touched when we heard that proceeds of the silent auction would go to our charity, it means such a lot to our staff, volunteers and the disabled young people we support.

“The £1,500 raised last year is much needed and will be spent on extending our wheelchair ramp around the vegetable plot.”

The exhibition runs 10am – 4.30pm Saturday, July 16 and July 17 with a preview evening on Friday, July 15 and admission is free all weekend.
