Normal service resumes for Derbyshire Police following fuse fault

Normal service has resumed for callers ringing Derbyshire police following an equipment failure this morning.

The force is now taking its own 999 calls and people are no longer being asked to wait until this afternoon before making non-emergency 101 calls.

A faulty fuse at around 7.30am caused the alarms at the force’s Central Contact Management Centre to sound and staff were relocated to different buildings to receive calls.

As a temporary measure, Nottinghamshire Police received Derbyshire’s 999 calls. Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service visited the building as a precaution, but there was no fire.

Derbyshire police would like to thank the public for their understanding and thank Nottinghamshire Police for their assistance.
