National minute’s silence for Tunisia victims

A national minute’s silence to remember those killed in the terrorist attack in Tunisia will take place today (Friday) at 12 noon.

Thirty Britons were killed when a gunman opened fire on a beach in Port El Kantoui last Friday.

Among the victims were Gainsborough’s Carly Lovett, 24, and John Stollery, 58, from Nottinghamshire.

Flags will be flown at half-mast over Whitehall and Buckingham Palace, while play at Wimbledon will be delayed.

The Queen and Prime Minister David Cameron will join the silence.

The first inquests into the deaths of the Britons will begin later, with the bodies of more of the dead expected to arrive back at RAF Brize Norton.
