Man fined for driving while on mobile

A Glossop man has been fined for using his mobile phone while driving, a court heard.

Louis Rhys May, 25, of Hadfield Road, Hadfield, was sentenced in his absence at High Peak Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Buxton, last Wednesday.

He was found guilty of using a handheld mobile while driving his Ford Transit van on Cemetery Road, in Glossop, on April 5th, and using a vehicle without a test certificate.

He was ordered to pay a £300 fine, £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge and given three points on his licence.
