Man arrested in connection with High Peak vehicle thefts

Police have arrested a man in connection with theft across the High Peak.

Derbyshire police said they have been working closely with South Yorkshire Police and Greater Manchester Police as part of Operation Everman to target theft from vans in the High Peak.

A spokesperson said: "As part of the joint working, officers from South Yorkshire Police stopped an Audi, believed to have been on stolen plates, at around 2.15am on Sunday, February 5 along Bawtry Road in Brinsworth, Rotherham. The vehicle was searched and a range of tools were seized.

"A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of going equipped. He was questioned by our officers and has been bailed until next month."
