Long Eaton: Officer suffers whiplash after stolen van rams police car

A police officer was left with whiplash when a stolen van rammed the side of their car.

The officer was taken to hospital after the incident on Stanhope Street, Long Eaton, at around 9am this morning (Sunday, October 19).

A spokesman for Derbyshire Constabulary said the driver of the stolen van ran into the front and side of the police car before driving off.

The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned in Bennett Street.

The officer has been allowed to go home and no arrests have been made yet.
