Little shop of horrors review

It has been transformed into major league entertainment by Chesterfield College’s A-team this week.

This imaginative show by performing arts students extracts every bit of humour and horror that it can.

Matt Parker excels as shy Seymour and his dance with Jordan Stanbrook in the comical role of shop owner Mushnik raised cheers from the audience at the town’s Pomegranate Theatre at the opening performance.

Anisha Ismail puts heart and soul into her performance of vulnerable Audrey, with a knockout version of the signature song Somewhere That’s Green.

Luke Hutchinson plays the sadistic dentist Orin so convincingly that anyone with toothache will be squirming in their seat.

Out for blood, the monster plant grows as it swallows its victims whole and even has the last laugh in a spectacular finale.

Awesome acting, top-class singing, first-class choreography coupled with plants which are a work of art and eye-catching costumes make this the best production of Little Shop of Horrors I’ve seen.
