High Peak pupils meet bishop on cathedral visit

Youngsters from the High Peak met with an ecclesiastical figurehead on a trip to a cathedral.

Fourteen youngsters from Fairfield Endowed Junior School, who make up the school council, were invited to meet Bishop Alistair at Derby Cathedral.

As well as being a member of the church, Bishop Alistair is also a member of the House of Lords.

There they joined up with children from schools across Derbyshire to hear about ‘a day in the life of an MP’ and then took part in a mini debate.

Finally they heard about Bishop Alistair’s work into modern slavery.
