High Peak couple seven hour exercise-athon for stillborn son raises £1,000

Amy and James Hawtin, who are now parents to eight-month-old baby Jasper, took over Fitness Station in Chapel-en-le-Frith all day on Sunday, October 29 to raise more than £1,000 for Tommy’s a charity which helps parents through losing babies.
Amy, 28 from Whaley Bridge who is also organising a ball at the Devonshire Dome in memory of Chester who was still born at 23 weeks, said: “It was a very long day and everything aches but it has all been worth it as we have raised an amazing £1,050 which is more than double than we hoped for.” Throughout the day various exercise classes took place including high intensity workouts followed by kettle class and body weights.

“We had eight of us doing every class and in the morning session we were joined by around 20 people which was great.
“It was tough but we got each other through and we were doing it for Chester which gave us all the push we needed to finish.”
