Help tackle cannabis use in Eastwood
It has been brought to my attention however, that there have been some drug raids in Eastwood.
This is very concerning and I want to appeal to everyone to be more vigilant and if you spot anything suspicious, unusual behaviour of any kind or indeed have a neighbour on your street that could be housing a small scale cultivation in a private dwelling to ring 999 immediately.
I’ve also been reliably informed that at a local building in Eastwood there was a smell of cannabis smoke in the kitchen which appeared to be coming up from the drain.
Investigations revealed some evidence that sure enough the dark concealed alley at the rear of the building had been used for a ‘cannabis smoke’.
The police have been alerted and I believe are now keeping the building under a close watch.
We need to stop this happening and protect the vulnerable of our society. Cannabis is and always has been an illegal drug. It now dominates the illegal drugs market in the UK and is stronger than ever before.
The enforcement response must reflect the danger that the drug poses to individuals and in turn to communities. Together let’s stamp it out! NHW is one of the best examples of how the police and the community can work together to prevent crime.
Why not join us on Tuesday November 11 at the Baptist Church on Percy Street at 7pm. Together, let’s work with the police and help make a difference to our community.
