Glossop man injured following St George's Day assault

Police in Glossop are appealing for information about an assault in the town on St George's Day.

On Saturday, April 23 at nearly 5pm two men were involved in an argument and fight near the Townhouse Service Station and Yummy’s takeaway on High Street East.

A 27-year-old man from Glossop sustained a cut on his head. A 26-year-old man from Ashton Under Lyne was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was interviewed and released on police bail.

PC Marc Deasey, who is investigating the incident, said: “The road was busy at the time with pedestrians and passing traffic so I believe a lot of people saw what was going on.”
