From relaxing in the park to cooling off with an ice cream, residents have been making the most of the heatwave.

The temperatures are expected to reach the high 20s today in Derbyshire making it the hottest day of the year so far.

People are being advised to stay safe by taking measures including: staying out of direct sunlight, especially between 11am and 3pm; drinking plenty of water and wearing light loose-fitting cotton clothes to minimise the risk of sunburn.
