Assistant Chief Constable Gary Knighton will be joined by Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Charles and Paul Beard JP to welcome the new recruits at a ceremony tonight.
The new special constables will take their oaths and be presented with their certificates and warrant cards.
The ten men and four women are aged 18-35 and their professions range from teacher to property developer.
They will be stationed in Ripley, Clay Cross, Derby, Glossop, Long Eaton, Ilkeston and Matlock.
ACC Knighton said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome our latest team of special constable recruits to Derbyshire Constabulary. Our specials have a long and proud history of providing vital support to the force, and in particular giving very welcome assistance to our communities and to police colleagues.
“These officers have come to us from all walks of life including a teacher, property developer, emergency care assistant and several students. These officers will be stationed throughout the Derbyshire Constabulary area and I very much look forward to working with them all to better serve our communities.”
