Folk stars join forces in Derbyshire concert

Three of Britain's finest musicians Martin Simpson, Andy Cutting and Nancy Kerr will come together for an evening of traditional music in Buxton this month.

Their debut album Murmurs was released a year ago and concert appearances to date,

have included the Beverley Festival, the Southwell Folk Festival and Folk in the Barn.

Martin Simpson is a multi-award winning musician, singer and songwriter. He has worked with artists such as Richard Hawley, June Tabor and Richard Simpson. Twenty years of living in the US has exposed Simpson to a wide range of musical styles and instruments, making him a world renowned performer in his own right.

Andy Cutting is considered to be one of the masters of the diatonic accordion with notable collaborations including Chris Wood and the band Blowzabella.

Nancy Kerr has been turning heads with her impressive talent since being in her teens. A singer and multi-instrumentalist, Kerr has been nominated numerous times for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

The group perform with virtuosity, joy and for the love of innovation on Sunday, June 12, at Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre.
