Flood alerts remain in place across Derbyshire

The Environment Agency issued a number of alerts yesterday, which means flooding is possible and asks residents to be prepared.

One alert for the upper River Dove has now been withdrawn - but alerts still remain for the River Wye and the lower River Derwent.

For the River Wye, flooding of low-lying agricultural land continues and the Ashford and Bakewell areas may be affected by flood water.

The level at the Ashford river gauge at 8.22am was 0.68 metres, according to the agency.

River levels will remain steady throughout today (Sunday), but will react to further forecasted rainfall throughout this evening and tonight.

The agency says flooding of low-lying agricultural land near the lower River Derwent continues.

Church Wilne, Draycott and Wilne Lane between Draycott and Sawley may be affected by flood water.

At 8.08am today, the level at the Church Wilne river gauge is 1.8 metres.

River levels will remain steady throughout today, but will react to further forecasted rainfall throughout this evening and tonight.
