Fire crews rescue a trapped crash casualty

Emergency services rescued a trapped casualty from the wreckage of a car after a road crash on the Snake Pass.

Fire crews from Glossop and Hathersage were called out to the one-vehicle collision on the A57, near Lady Clough, about 1.50pm, on Friday, June 3.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “The incident involved one vehicle and five casualties in total.

“Four of the casualties were regarded as walking wounded but one was trapped.

“Crews used heavy rescue equipment to free the trapped casualty who was handed over to the ambulance service.”

Police and an air ambulance were also present at the incident.

Fire crews made the area safe within an hour-and-a-half.
