DNA from Chinley man identifies WWI soldier

DNA from a Chinley man has helping identify a soldier killed during the First World War, who was found in France in 2009.

The remains of Corporal Francis Carr Dyson and nine other soldiers were found during construction work near the village of Beaucamps-Ligny and were formally named after their surviving relatives provided DNA samples.

The next of kin of Corporal Carr Dyson, who was born in Wakefield, is Peter Hague, a cousin twice removed, of Chinley.
