Derbyshire set for blast of summer – just as the kids go back to school
By Thursday, temperatures in Derbyshire could hit 22C – six degrees above the September average.
The news comes as children across the county prepare to go back to school after a disappointing summer which saw the average temperature reach just 13.9C

“This high is expected to drift away to the east towards Scandinavia on Wednesday, bringing up some warmer air from the continent.
“Most of this week will be dry and fine across the UK with spells of sunshine during the days and clear spells overnight.”
But those hoping for an Indian Summer may be disappointed as a low pressure system is expected to start to move in from the west over the weekend, bringing the risk of some rain and a settling of temperatures back down to the September average.
