Derbyshire police welcomes new recruits

A former soldier and tank driver are among 16 new police constables joining Derbyshire Constabulary.

On the new recruits Sean James (36), of Newport, was a member of the Royal Welsh and his last posting was in Pontypridd, South Wales, before joining the police service. He will be posted at Glossop.

The recruits, who began their training in November, included ten women and six men, aged from 22 to 36.

Two former police call handlers and five police community support officers were also among the group of new police officers.
