Over a hundred countries will be teaming up in support of Safer Internet Day 2015 on Tuesday, February 10, to promote the safe and responsible use of online technology.

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the celebration sees hundreds of organisations getting involved to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

As part of the day, top Derbyshire detectives will be taking to twitter to host an online question and answer session.

The Q and A session will give parents and carers the opportunity to ask any questions that they may have around internet safety and what further steps they can take to help youngsters to use the internet responsibly.

People will have the opportunity to put their questions to the team between 9am and 5pm, tomorrow, Tuesday, February 10, by visiting the social media site and tweeting their questions under #SaferNetQA before they receive answers.

Police will also be posting advice on Twitter and Facebook around the steps that parents, carers and teachers can take to help keep children and young people safe online.
