Cyclist taken to hospital after crash on Tour de Yorkshire route
A CYCLIST was injured on the route of the Tour de Yorkshire this morning (Sunday).
Insp David Glover of West Yorkshire Police said the man was with a group of recreational cyclists on Birdcage Walk, Otley at around 8.55am when he came off his bike in the rain and hit a car.
The male cyclist, who is believed be in his thirties and was taking part in the Sportive event, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where his condition is not considered to be life threatening.
Riders in the Tour de Yorkshire will travel on Birdcage Walk today as they make their way to Roundhay Park and the finish line
