Woman rescued from High Peak reservoir

A woman has been rescued from a reservoir in the High Peak by three crews from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.

At just before midnight on Monday, November 21, firefighters from Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith on call Fire Station and Buxton Fire Station were mobalised to Combs Reservoir.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue said: “On arrival one adult female had entered the water. The Swift Water Rescue Team from Buxton entered the water with their boat to rescue the casualty. She was then handed over to EMAS.”

Buxton Mountain Rescue team members were also called out to Lathkill Dale recently, after walkers got lost in the dark.

A spokesperson said: “A couple enjoying a weekend away found themselves disorientated as it got darker. They found some shelter and called police.

“The team was called at 7pm and located the casualties, walking them back to the team vehicle for a hot drink.”
