Trio attacked Buxton man after forcing their way into his flat and stealing cash and mobile phone

A trio of men attacked a Buxton man while they forced entry into his flat and burgled cash and a mobile phone.

Detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary which happened in Eagle Parade in Buxton late on Sunday, October 11.

A man went to the door of his flat shortly before 11.50pm after he heard a loud bang at the door as if it was about to be forced open.

Shortly after that, three men forced their way into the flat and began attacking the man and stealing a black leather wallet which contained a quantity of cash and a Samsung S10 mobile phone.

Two of the burglars are described as being white, around 6ft tall and wearing all black clothing while the other man was black, also around 6ft and dressed in black clothing and black gloves.

The men all had their faces covered and the victim who was injured during the burglary was treated by ambulance staff.

But the Buxton man’s wounds are not believed to be life threatening or life changing at this stage.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw what happened or anyone with information to report what they saw.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious, or has dash cam footage or private CCTV installed nearby, is asked to contact Detective Constable Jane Cyples by calling 101 and quoting reference number 2*536426.
