Three men given £200 fines for breaching Covid restrictions in Fairfield

As the government cracks down on people flouting Covid rules three men in Fairfield have all been given fines for being inside a house which is not their home.

The Buxton Safer Neighbourhood officers teamed up with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police to search an address on Fairfield Rd, Buxton as part of the Misuse of Drugs investigation.

A police spokesperson said: “The investigation is ongoing and we hope to update you in the near future.

“However, what we can say three adult males were inside the address, who lived elsewhere and had no reasonable excuse to be there.

“All three were issued with £200 fines and left the property.”

The government has put new public health regulations into place to help reduce the spread of the Covid-19 and people aged 18 or over can be fined £200 for the first offence, lowered to £100 if paid within 14 days.
