Police seized drugs, a knife and 'suspicious brownies' from two Derby lockdown breachers who told officers they had driven over 34 miles to Buxton ‘for a McDonald’s’.

Officers from Buxton SNT carried out a stop search on a vehicle which was spotted on Bakewell Road last night.

They said: “They had come from Derby for a 'McDonald's' apparently. Didn't know we had a McDonald's in Buxton, but who knew?

“Anyway, the vehicle was stopped and a positive search was done finding approximately five ounces of cannabis, suspicious brownies a stanley knife, weighing scales and further drug paraphernalia.

"Two were locked up for being concerned in the supply of cannabis and a lot of disappointed customers waiting for their baked goods in Buxton."
