Chapel Carnival is back this weekend bringing with it all the usual fun, floats and fancy dress.
Festivities kick off on Friday with the judging of the best dressed shops, houses, pubs and lamp posts in Chapel-en-le-Frith.
While on Saturday, judges will turn their attentions to determining the best floats and fancy dress at the Jolly Carter from 11.30am.
The grand procession will start from the Buxton Road pub from 1pm and parade through the town to Chapel Leisure Centre, on Long Lane, next to Chapel-en-le-Frith High School.
There will be a fairground, charity and organisation stalls and demonstrations, food and entertainment, including a display by The Billerettes, Buxton’s all-male majorette troupe, and the Chesterfield Musketeers Showband on the carnival field from 2.15pm, followed by the crowning of the new 2014 royalty.
On Sunday, the annual pet show will take place at the Memorial Park at 2pm, followed by a children’s sports day.
On Wednesday from 7pm, The Old Pack Horse is holding a classic car and bike show and there will be a car treasure hunt on Friday starting at 6pm at Thornbrook car park.
