Saturday’s event will feature a Latin flavour as this year’s theme is Rio and all things carnival, with fun for all the family to enjoy throughout the day.

A display of classic and vintage vehicles is taking place at the Royal Hotel car park from 11am on Saturday, with some of the vehicles also taking part in the parade.

There will also be stalls on the old school field on Swallow House Lane from 11am.

The parade itself, featuring this year’s May Queen royalty queen Ruth Eastwood, junior queen Hannah Cooper and rosebud Milly Phoenix, as well as visiting royalty and a variety of colourful foot characters and floats, starts at 1.30pm from Station Road, winding its way through the village to the old school field.

The fun continues on Sunday with the return of the May Queen car boot sale on the Royal Hotel car park from 8am to 1pm. Pre-booking is advised by calling 07846 772 568.
