Buxton team rescue walker with broken leg

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was called to the grounds of Capesthorne Hall, in Siddington, near Macclesfield on Friday to help a 55-year-old woman, who had slipped on muddy ground.

The casualty was taking part in the East Cheshire Hospice Star Lights Walk, when she slipped and suffered a suspected fractured of her lower leg.

The North West Ambulance Service were first on scene but had difficulty accessing the patient.

Team members helped the woman onto a stretcher and she was treated by paramedics, placed in a basket stretcher, evacuated in the Polaris four-by-four to a road ambulance and transferred to hospital for further treatment.
