Medical examination indicated a possible spinal injury and whilst the casualty was being prepared for extraction, an air-ambulance was requested to minimise the journey time to hospital.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) was able to land in fields near to the White Lodge Car Park and then waited for the team to carry the stretcher down the hillside to the helicopter.
Following further examination by the aircrew doctors, the casualty was able to be transported to the Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport by a land ambulance.
