Bank holiday weekend traffic and travel

A rundown of travel disruptions in Derbyshire and what the weather is going to be like for anyone planning on going away for the weekend.

Roads:

. On the M1 southbound between junctions J31 and J30, expect delays of up to 30 mins at peak times due to roadworks.

. On the M1 southbound between junctions J29 and J27, expect delays of up to 30 mins at peak times due to roadworks.

From Monday, May 4, engineering work is taking place on some parts of the East Midlands Trains network with the following trains amended.

On Monday the 06:00 Sheffield to London St Pancras International, 07:36 Derby to London St Pancras International and 17:45 London St Pancras International to Derby will not run.

06:49 (Monday) Sheffield to London St Pancras International calls additionally at Long Eaton.

18:00 London St Pancras International to Melton Mowbray will terminate at Corby.

04:45 (Monday to Friday) Leicester to London St Pancras International will start earlier from Leicester, Kettering and Wellingborough.

A 24-hour strike by members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union will affect East Coast trains on Bank Holiday Monday

If your rail station connects to London - Charing Cross, London Bridge and Waterloo East will be closed over the long weekend.

Sever delays expected on West Coast services between Birmingham and Wolverhampton and Crewe and Wigan.

Line into London Liverpool Street will be shut on Sunday and Monday.
