There will be a children’s playground, tombola, bouncy castle, face painting, a hot food tent and a large outside bar. Proceedings will be compered by Becky Measures of Spire Radio.

The event will raise money for The Sonia Rayner Family Trust.

Sonia was a resident of Brampton, who passed away in 2014 of sudden heart failure after a viral infection.

She left behind her three children: Jack, 17, Rubi-Grace, 6, and India-Mae, 5.

The majority of Sonia’s adult life was spent caring for her children, as she was an extremely devoted mother.

This included the extra care required by Jack, who suffers from a rare and severe form of Brittle Asthma which necessitates constant medical treatment additional support and numerous, often long periods of hospitalisation.

In order to help ensure that Jack and his sisters continue to receive the care they require, the discretionary trust was set up, formally constituted and overseen by trustees.

The Britannia Bash was founded by Sonia’s brother Baz, who plays drums in Crackin’ Right Foot. He said: “As the founder of The Britannia Bash, co-trustee of The Sonia Rayner Family Trust and more importantly Sonia’s brother, I have been overwhelmed by the level of support shown by the people of Chesterfield.

“Each year when putting this event on, it gets bigger and better with lots of people giving up their time to support the cause. The amount of people who attend the event is particularly overwhelming and continues to solidify my faith in Chesterfield’s supportive community spirit.

“The bands involved over the last few years have all played for nothing and the calibre of bands has just got better each year.

“I’d just like to say a huge thankyou to all concerned, with special thanks to Johnny and Jodie Wray of the Britannia Inn for allowing us to hold the event there.”
