Badger found dead in Hayfield snare
A badger has been found dead in a snare on farm land in Hayfield.
The Derbyshire Constabulary Wildlife Officer said: “The snare that was used was a legal free running snare that looks like it had been tampered with to make it self locking. This offence was not on or near any Moor Lands.”
A couple of years ago the police investigated a very similar snaring of a badger in the Hayfield area set on a footpath of National Trust Land.
