£9m Buxton residential care scheme nears completion

Another milestone has been reached in the construction of the £9m Thomas Fields development for older people in Buxton.

As well as the 53 two-bedroom extra care housing apartments on Brown Edge Road there will be a 20-place specialist residential care centre and communal facilities including a restaurant, hair salon and health suite.

Project stakeholders were recently given a tour of a new show home which has been completed.

Donna Holmes, Head of Extra Care at Housing 21, said: “It was great to share the opening of the show home with a number of councillors and officers who were also impressed by the Extra Care scheme as a whole.

“We are looking forward to our new residents moving in at the end of July.”
