Appeal after rare Merlin Falcon chicks swiped from nest

Police are appealing for information after the suspected theft of four Merlin Falcon chicks from a nest.

Some time between Saturday, June 18 and Thursday, June 30, the chicks were removed from a nest in the Goyt Valley, which was situated on land to the east of the Cat and Fiddle pub.

The nest was being monitored by a local raptor group who reported the theft to police after finding no evidence the chicks had been killed by another animal.
