A window into the work of stained glass designer Kempe
Kempe windows appear in cathedrals and parish churches throughout England and Wales, as well as in countries abroad.
The talk will be presented by Adrian Barlow on Friday May 13 at Spring Bank Arts Centre, the former church of St James the Less, on Spring Bank in New Mills, starting at 7.30pm.

Hide AdAdrian is one of leading authorities on the work of Kempe. A retired academic with a broad knowledge of the art of stained glass, he is also a trustee of the Kempe Trust.
Philip Kendall, from Spring Bank Arts, said: “Adrian has spoken in many venues and at international gatherings, and Spring Bank Arts is very pleased to host him.
“We are so lucky to have Kempe windows in the former St James the Less church, and Adrian is coming from Cheltenham to see these.
“There is a lot of interest in New Mills. St John’s in Buxton has some Kempe glass, as does Ashbourne.”

Hide AdThe talk is free, although donations will be welcome. A licensed bar will be open from 7pm. Parking will be easily accessible in the signed car park nearby.
